Last Blog Entry

Since there are no readings this week listed, I think that a good way to wrap up our blog would be to reflect on technology usage in the classroom as well as using a blog.  I also think it would be good to once again Share your experiences in exploring the mobile learning device: what you use it for, what new things and functions you have discovered, questions/problems and solutions...
-Daily Technical Tricks and Resources
-Field Experience - share learning experience from your field observations - good practices of the host teacher that you think you will use in your own teaching, puzzles, wanderings, questions, surprises, "aha" moments and more...

Week 6 Readings

While reading through the open content and mobile computing sections I saw so many wonderful alternatives to traditional textbooks and expensive resources that I would love to include in a classroom; however, seeing that the models are for a college level classroom it is confusing as to which tools would be best for an elementary school setting, and how quickly students should be introduced to these types of resources. I think that one of the best resources to use would be open content textbooks, and creating open content projects as a class. Using this would support individualized learning and allow children to explore what methods work for them. An open content project would support community building as well as teaching students how to use resources with discipline and respect.
1. what resources would you select to introduce elementary students to this type of technology?
2. define open content, and describe one way you would use it in a classroom.
3. What is the one technology to watch from the Horizon Report that you think would be easiest to incorporate into a classroom?
